OUR STAFF
Gan Israel prides itself on its exceptional counselors! All counselors come with 5 years of prior experience and a desire to work with children. Bunk sizes are kept small and well staffed.
Our affiliation with the world wide Chabad educational network allows us access to young men and women who are interns in the field of Jewish education. We bring in these college age men and women from around the world and provide housing in Swampscott for the summer. Who benefits from this? Your child. Our counselors are not doing this as a summer job. These are individuals dedicated to Jewish outreach and will have a positive effect on your child for years to come. Our staff also provides extra programming throughout the summer in the form of Shabbat services for children at Chabad.

Over the years, Camp Gan Israel of the North Shore has always been dedicated to small groups with exceptional staff supervision. This ensures the best possible care, instruction and supervision for our campers. Our counselors are highly trained, dedicated, and experienced.
CAMP DIRECTORS:
Chaya Baron is a warm and passionate educator with many years of day camp experience. She has directed Jewish day camps across the world from Gothenburg, Sweden, to Vancouver, WA and more than a few in between!
She is the leader of our top notch staff and takes great pride in our on-going, comprehensive staff training program. Her extensive experience in the classroom and out, with kids of all ages makes her a most valuable asset as educator and administrator to our camp throughout the summer.
Look out for her canvassing the camp grounds with her signature warmth and smile.
Rabbi Sruli Baron is a warm, spirited , fun loving, and camp-loving guy. He likewise spent many a summer as counselor, Head Counselor and Director of various Camps around the world, from Caracas, Venezuela, to the flagship Gan Israel camp in Upstate New York. During the year he heads up Tobin Bridge Chabad, and runs the North Shore Jewish Kids Club and Hebrew School.
Rabbi Sruli who co-directs CGI with Chaya, uses his years of experience, and leadership skills to run and operate a smooth and safe summer program for our campers.
He is our on-site director and is available 24/7 for anything you may need.
